There is a story about the marriage of Mary M. and Benjamin Liston given by the Historian of Preston Co: Benjamin is supposed to have bitten of the ear of a man in a fight and in his trial was sentenced to be hanged. He escaped from jail, swam the Cheat River. hurried thru Albright to Valley Point, stopped at Mary's home, persuaded her to run away with him, and her parents gave them horses and provisions. They were married in the western part of Fayette Co., PA, and continued to live there.

Mary married Benjamin Liston-[92] [MRIN:17] about 1825 in Fayette Co. , PA. (Benjamin Liston-[92] was born in 1799 in PA and died in 1882 in Ohiopyle, PA.)
