As for Andersons, I know what you mean, Dick. It took me about 15 years to finally make the connections back to the villages in Sweden. I searched the Ancestry World Tree for your mother, Ethel Mabel Anderson, but there is no connection in America between your line and mine as I have the names and relationships of every individual in our line who came to America and their descendants. However, I noted that your grandfather, John Anderson (yes, my great grandfather was a John Anderson too) was a Lutheran and was affiliated with numerous individuals at that church with Scandinavian ancestry, probably Swedish. If you can make the connection to Sweden, detailed household records there go back to the 1600s and 1700s, so it's worth the effort.

As for the Fitzes, Magdalena "Falkenstine", wife of John Fitz, and their first seven children are listed in their family bible and you can view a copy on page 114 of one of my books, A Genealogist's Guide to Discovering Your Germanic Ancestors, Betterway Books, 2000, available through Amazon.com and every bookstore on the planet (well, maybe). I included quite a bit of information and copies of records on the Fitzes throughout the book. Genealogy is like eating salted peanuts .... you just can't stop (smile).
