Falkenstein, William Alpheus-[118]
William was married early and lived in Harmony Grove, Preston Co. until the Civil War. On Mar. 29, 1862, He organized a Bruceton Mills military company(Company H, 3rd MD. Potomic Home Guards) of ten officers and 78 enlisted men. They called themselves the West Virginia Snake Hunters of which he was captain. on Aug. 8, 1863, this unit was incorporated into the Maryland troopa under the name of Company H, 3rd regiment, Potomac home Brigade, Maryland Infantry. He remained captain of the unit throughout the conflict. His two sons; John jenkins and Lewis Franklin accompanied him to the war as company musicians. At the close of the war, he attained the rank of Brevett Major William married Louisa Jenkins-[234] [MRIN:38] in 1841 in Unknown. (Louisa Jenkins-[234] was born in 1822 in Unknown and died in 1881 in Unknown.) William also married Amanda E. Easley-[235] [MRIN:39] in 1883 in Unknown. (Amanda E. Easley-[235] was born in 1860 in Unknown, died in 1890 in Adair Co., Missouri and was buried in 1890 in Adair Co., Missouri.) William also married Mollie L. F. Bond-[236] [MRIN:40] in 1894 in Unknown. (Mollie L. F. Bond-[236] was born about 1829 in Unknown and died on an unknown date in Unknown.) |
